Re: What Did You Do Today?

just came back from outside, it's extremely windy and I froze my ass off taking pics for one of my classes. it's the end of the semester so I have to do all the work I didn't do when I was supposed to, now I have to take about 200 pictures a day if I want to manage to finish everything on time...

We also put up big red ribbons on the doors, and I made a pile of little ones for people to pin to their jackets, shirts, etc.
I had an art history class, but it was canceled because of Day Without Art.
We had a gallery meeting to which my horrible ex boyfriend showed up to ask for help for his senior show.
Then I began making a papier mache leg modeled after the lamp from A Christmas Story for my final project in Problems In Teaching Art I.
I helped one of my friends make props for Seussical, then I came home.
yay.

there was a work at the Hayward that consisted of a large pile of wrapped hard candy in a corner. The pile weighed the exact amount as a friend of the artist at the time he was diagnosed with AIDS. visitors were encouraged to take a piece of candy, kind of both symbolizing taking a piece of the friend with you and also the decay of his body.

You sure it wasn't a poison apple? That happens sometimes.

No, I'm pretty sure that was just a regular apple.

But you're right, that does happen every now & then. I think we all need to bow our heads in silence to remember those brought to death by poisonus apples.

Yes, and may we pay homage to out beloved Snow White, who narrowly avoided a fatal poison apple incident many years ago.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Was somewhat heartened by the random act of generosity that I had bestowed upon me by an, as yet, undiscovered individual who appears to have gifted me one of those silver tarps for my hairdryer sometime in the last 24 hours.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Went to my mom and dads for Turkey dinner since we missed Thanksgiving because we were on our honeymoon in Amsterdam. Good to see my folks hadn't seen them since the wedding almost a month ago. Just got home .

Oh my God...
That's just like the installations that one of my favorite artists, Felix Gonzales-Torres used to do. His lover died of AIDS, and so did he a few years later.

Anyway, today I went to the college library to get a book for American Gov't, went to dinner with my two best friends, went grocery shopping, then we saw Rent, during which I cried like a baby. Afterward we spent an hour or so discussing how ignorant people can be.
Now I'm sitting here burning people copies of the original Broadway cast recording, since we've all gotten hooked on it.

Actual reality...

hey how can you be preparing youself men tally inprecipitating ?
200 pics? well which version of Photoshop are you using?Yeah Digital Imaging sounds very COOL but is sure a pain when it comes to printing -you gotta go thru hell of lotta color corrections and pixel fixing. In fact Print Collabaration is much alchemy hence I avoid PRINT media.Actually I do 3d graphics and animations with Poser+Bryce+3D sMAX+Rhino.Though that may sound too esoteric, but making a 3 second of animation then compositing the various elements ,positioning camera points and "key ins " to achieve some noteworthy result is a toll on nerves.I'm still stuck on the scene where I have to take a camera dolly in on elliptical path for about 200m. over the Bryce MoonSurface ;craeting that lighting effects and shadow play to sync in with the BrainDamage tabs is daunting.I still have to create a flowing red veil which will be cross faded when an tear shaped metaball falls into inverted pyramid and then starts to metamorph into a man who gets blown by wind and these peices of metal and wood then crawl up towards in "shine On Snake Wave " to form the two head of division bell;then the camera will zoom toward the center of its eyes to open a surreal view of inside the brain where a green pulse shatters a prism and then final scene with camera panning out to reveal the planets i.e. all universe is within human's brain....
Ok here goes my storyboard....
