Re: What Did You Do Today?

Was outside mowing my lawn this morning when I heard the unmistakable roar of twin radial engines approaching. I looked up as a B-25 Mitchell bomber (think Doolittle Tokyo raid) in authentic WWII olive drab/insignia flew directly over my head at about 1000 ft. What a thrill!

I remember seeing the spitfires doing the fly past at Knebworth and it was something else. I was also fortunate enough to have visited RAF Kinloss in my youth and sat inside a mothballed Lancaster bomber ( also toured a Nimrod). When you sit in the tail gunners seat of a Lancaster you realise how little protection the aircrew had, and how brave they must have been to go into battle in one of these crates.

Yep, plexiglass and thin-gauge aluminum sheeting isn't much to have between you and the 20mm cannon shells being spewed at you by that nasty Me-110
night fighter on your tail. Those men had balls.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Woke up early to do laundry before my bf picks me up for the weekend.

We're supposed to be going to an amusement park this weekend that has a Mr. Rogers neighborhood in it.

I Mr. Rogers!
