Re: What Did You Do Today?

Making web presence/presents?...

It's all for an IT class that I'm required to take... the work is brilliantly simple, but almost everyone seems to have troubles with it

And I'm wasting time until class listening to my iPod, and marauding about the internet

Re: What Did You Do Today?

bought tickets for a salsa night, swept the flat, drank coffee, worried that I may have to fight a lawsuit for slander at some point, replenished cat litter and food, wondered when I'd start hearing back from the 40 CVs that I sent out a couple of days ago, read a magazine, bought chinese food, watched Pirates of the Carribean, managed to secure a Big Chain for my bike through one of those drainage grates by the application of ye olde coat hanger stunt, thought about buying the Shane Meadows box set, if only for This is England alone.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

I went to this girl's house for lunch and ate cheerio's and wondered what to do once she started looking at me all googly eyed and going on about how great my new haircut looked (a former co-worker. she's only 16 years old...gotta be careful) . After that I went to school to learn about synthesizers in synthesis class. Went home, took a nap, went to work..closed..finished all the work that my fucking lazy employees didn't do that they were supposed to. Now I'm going to sit down next to Mary Jane and continue my saga of folk songs.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Well I woke up pretty early today, I had breakfast then I read the book. It pretty much sucked me in, it's a detective story you see. Now I'm on my computer and later in the evening I'll go to the city and watch basketball on the big screen in the cafe.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Came back from the garage totally depressed. My vespa ( my pride and joy) is still not repaired after being in there for 6 weeks. To say I had words with the mechanic would be putting it mildly. I blew a b*oody gasket. His latest excuse was that the Vespa factory in Italy was shut for a month and that was the reason for the delay in getting the parts.

Do you smell that? Smells like bull sh*t to me!

Anyhoo, I also registered for the Zep tickets so here's hoping that both Jiggyauntie and Axie both get the tickets they so richly deserve!!

Re: What Did You Do Today?

I rehearsed with the band. We were looking for a fourth member and we may end up being five! Some musicians have answered our ad and we are rehearsing now with a cellist and a guitarist. Last wednesday we rehearsed with the cellist and she is really wonderful!... and not a bad musician either
Well, jokes apart (though I must admit that she is very beautiful) she plays very well and she's very quick adapting to our songs. And, since she is classically trained, she can help us a lot with technical details about notes and chords. I really love the sound of the cello, it's one of my favourite instruments.

Today we rehearsed with the guitarist. He's a young guy (22) and his influences are John Frusciante, The Mars Volta, Sonic Youth and... SYD BARRETT!! We have listened to some things he has recorded and Syd's influence is all over the place, he has even played a bit of "Baby Lemonade" during the rehearsal. We'll see what can come out of this mixture of pop, classic rock, progressive, psychedelia and classical stuff.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Oh what a good day my friends because I learned that I got an amazing salary rise of 15 cents, how great is that?! (heavy sarcasm). Seriously, I've been working there for more than 2 years and I believe I am a good employee (I hardly ever miss work, I never show up late, I show all the work to almost every new people and I never complain about it) and how do they thank me? 15 cents. My salary is already pathetic enough, I'll probably just sart looking for a new job.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Work and more rehearsing with the band.

Today it was the last rehearsal for the new guitarist. We have decided that he will not join the band. He has been utterly lost in all the rehearsals and I suspect that he didn't even know what he was doing. He wanted to add a second guitar to a song and all his chords were wrong. We have had to stop and go chord by chord telling him what he could and what he couldn't play... Well, this is not our job, he should know what to play (a different thing is whether we like it or not but he should write his own parts).

Anyway, we still got the cellist
