Exclamation New DVD for Atom Heart Mother

This news comes from Brain Damage Online:

"Details were revealed today of a new DVD, available from the end of this month, that promises rare footage of Pink Floyd performing Atom Heart Mother at the 1970 Bath Festival, complete with choir and orchestra.

The DVD, released by Classic Rock Direct, is called "Atom Heart Mother: The Ultimate Critical Review", and features an in-depth discussion with Ron Geesin, who arranged and co-wrote the piece. There is also interview footage with Roger Waters and Nick Mason included.

Classic Rock state that the DVD also includes "rare radio archive recordings of Floyd performing Fat Old Sun" (presumably the BBC John Peel session), alongside "the only known footage" of the track being played at the Bath Festival."

At last, this one could be a good one!!! Let's hope the quality is decent enough.

.....I mean, Fat - Old - Sun!!!

I never thought much of Fat old sun, not until I heard the In concert BBC version last year, it really makes the song.

This could be a good set.
It is about time the two BBC concerts from 70/71 were released in full though.
Has the group blocked release of this, as most of there contempories (Bowie, Beatles, Who, Hendrix,Led Zepellin) have really good BBC session albums available?

Yep, in fact they didn't allow the release, mainly because a) they want full control on the music which is released under the Pink Floyd name, but b) they couldn't be arsed to go through the process of selecting the material, a process which would require the involvement of all of the four members.

I'm not expecting full performances, just clips interspersed among the interviews. But it should be a worthwhile disc anyway.

Sounds interesting. Is the same company that released that history of Floyd 2-disc thing or whatever? I heard those were trash.

But a full AHM performance would be nice...I have a couple, but they're without choir and orchestra.

I heard the Floyd hated performing AHM, so it might not be very energetic performance.

Is this DVD going to worthwhile? I do believe this is the same company that did those other "critical review" DVDs and, like mentioned above, I hear they are absolutely awful.

We'll have to wait and see. I'm betting that there probably won't be anything on it that you can't get in an uninterrupted format via the internet, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Well, apparently we should save our money and avoid this DVD, accordingly to Brain Damage

Why would they make a DVD of AHM? That's stupid.
