Re: The Work of Writer's

I know that but everybody was making a new thread every couple minutes. Might as well put them in one if they are just small ideas.

Re: The Work of Writer's

Some geezer tried to do the same with poems not too long ago. It wasn't appreciated, folks probably want their own thread when they have written something and get full attention.

Re: The Work of Writer's

Yes, and lots of people don't check the threads if they've already read the first story/poem. So they won't bother checking back to see if a new story is there or not.

Re: The Work of Writer's

I've written a few things, some stories, what I've been working on lately are short movie scripts

you asked

This is just the start of something muuch more longer and better, but ironiclly the intro to my bigger script turned into a short film nicely-

OPENING:

A lone road in a desolate town. No cars are driving down the road, but in the distance a car can be seen. It's mid-day as the car drives down the road and stops at a building.

The small white building is in the middle of a vaccant lot. The sign in front reads Rummage Sale.

Two women get out of the car, an older man waits in the driver's seat. The women enter the rummage sale.

Inside the rummage sale two women are seen entering the building carrying two large bags.
The tables and shelves inside of the rummage sale are covered in old tatered cloths. Some are torn, some blood stains can be seen on the shirts.

The two women empty the bags onto two already covered tables and leave the building.
They get into the car, and the old man drives off.

BLACK

A house sitting off the side of an old farm road. Its night out and there is no moon in the sky. The clouds are thick making the sky darker. Fog surrounds the large house and the barn that sits in the back of the house, a silo accomponies the barn with a large light blazing at the top. Two large garages sit to the side of the barn shrouded in darkness.
The car from the Rummage Sale pulls into the driveway.

Inside the house the women from the Rummage Sale are sitting at the kitchen table, eating a meger diner, the old man in an easy chair watching the TV News, the date says Oct. 20.

ON TV:
In an update of the Meechy Bay killer, two more bodies have been found off the Old Keplier Bridge. Police say the bodies were severed of their limbs and mutalted beyond recognition. Police in the area are still advising residents to stay inside at all costs, and only venture out during the day and with a group. The authorites also request no one should be let into your home you do not know. These two bodies bring the death count up to 26. In other news..

A shadow passes over the walls, one woman gets up from the table.

WOMAN:
Hey there sweetie-pie, good to see your up.

Sounds of a chain saw starting and the woman turns to the others in paniced horror. She screams as the other woman at the table gets up. Torrid sounds of hacking and screaming, gurgling. The other woman gets splattered with blood as she heads for the man in the chair. Before she can get there the unseen slaughterer gets her in the chain saw fury. The woman drops to the ground. The man in the chair begins to cry as a chain saw blade enters the view, and blacknesses as it closes on the man.

WHITE
CREDITS

A car with four friends drives down the same desolate road. The day is turning into a crimson red as the sun sets.

Inside the car they are talking mindlessly as the pass through the town. They pass small town stores. MATT names them off as the go.

MATT:
Joe's, Walking Tall, Meechy Bay Town Offices..

LUKE:
What a shitty town.

ROB:
Where the hell are we?

FAITH:
(sighs)
The Middle of nowhere.

They pass the Rummage Sale.

MATT:
Pam's Pizza, Rummage Sale...hey look at that.

LUKE:
What?

MATT:
Go back, turn around.

LUKE hesitates but turns and pulls into the Rummage Sale. The car stops at the front steps.

LUKE:
Are you happy now?

MATT, ROB, and FAITH get out of the car. MATT pops his head in the open car door.

MATT:
You comming in?

LUKE:
Nah bro, its all for you guys.

MATT closes the door and the three friends head to the front steps. LUKE calls to MATT before he enters the building.

LUKE:
You better hurry your ass!

MATT shakes his head without looking back and they walk in the door.

ROB:
Helloo??!!

MATT:
Anybody herrrr?

FAITH:
Matt your not a gangster.

MATT:
I know, but I can talk the talk can't I?

FAITH rolls her eyes and heads toward a shelf littered with clothes.

FAITH:
I wonder what this place is all about?
(she begins riffling through the clothes, MATT and ROB are at a table with sweaters, no two articles are the same, nor do any match)

FAITH:
This is worse then that thrift store on 82nd.

ROB:
(walking in FAITH's direction)
I'm sure you'd have no problem wearing this stuff would you?

ROB picks up a shirt and looks at it. FAITH's eyes widen and ROB turns the shirt over to look at the other side. The other side is heavily blood stained and there are many small puncture holes in it. ROB drops the shirt in disgust.

ROB:
What the hell?

FAITH:
What the **** happened to that?

MATT:
(turning to see what it is)
What?

ROB:
(hurrying MATT out)
Never mind man, lets jet.

MATT:
No way, whats got your panties in a ruff?

MATT bends down and picks up the shirt. He looks at ROB through some of the puncture marks.

MATT:
This? Moths maybe.

ROB:
Bloody, vicious moths?

MATT:
Maybe

FAITH:
I wonder how it got here?

MATT:
Someone brought it here, mystery sloved.

ROB:
(looking around store)
Doesn't look like anyones been here for a while.

The walls are dirty as is the floor. Water stains mark the ceiling and cobwebs cluster the corners.

FAITH:
More reason to leave, lets go, this place gives me the creeps.

MATT:
(chuckling, he throws the shirt on a pile knocking a box with other cloths onto the floor)
Yeah, lets go.

The three head to the door FAITH hits MATT in the arm as he goes by. FAITH stops at the door.

ROB:
Uhhh...lets goooo, your the one who wanted to leave.

FAITH:
Shhh!

MATT and ROB stand looking at eachother.

MATT:
What is it Faith?

FAITH:
Shh God dammit!

ROB:
Lets go Matt, she's still looking for a red tag sale.

FAITH:
**** you Rob.
You didn't hear that?

MATT:
What?

FAITH:
That sound...like screaming..moaning.

ROB looks at MATT and smiles.

ROB:
Screaming? Moaning? Damn Matt what do you do with this girl? She's got the bedroom on the mind.

MATT:
Jesus Rob, shut up.

MATT grabs FAITH's hand and turns to the door, she pulls away.

FAITH:
I heard it Matt!

Matt:
(sighing)
Fine..what exactly did..

Before MATT can finish blood curdling screams are head from beneath the floor, the floor thuds and shakes. MATT runs out the door still holding FAITH's hand, ROB is close behind. LUKE is leaning against the car back to them. They jump into the car.

ROB:
GO!

LUKE:
(still outside the car)
What?

MATT:
(getting into the passenger seat)
Let's go Luke..!

LUKE gets into the car and looks into the backseat at a terrified FAITH and ROB.

MATT:
What are you waiting for man?

LUKE puts the car into gear and drives off.

The house on the farm road sits silent surrounded by fog. The only light is the one on top of the silo. A car makes its way slowly down the road, and comes to a rolling stop just down the street from the house.

Inside the car LUKE looks at the dashboard blinking with lights.

MATT:
(leaning to look at the dash)
Whats wrong?

LUKE:
Dunno, better have a look.

LUKE and MATT get out of the car, LUKE opens the hood. FAITH and ROB stay in the car.

ROB:
What do you think it is this time?

FAITH:
(sarcasticlly)
Anything...Luke is a magnet for pieces of shit cars. Last one he bought only had one axel.

ROB:
How'd he drive it?

FAITH:
(lifting her eyebrow)
Exactly...

ROB:
(laughing)
Oh..

MATT opens the drivers side door and leans in.

MATT:
Luke says its a fuse, could take a while to find which one. It's starting to rain too.

ROB:
Yeah?

MATT:
Luke thinks we should go call for a tow at that house over there.

FAITH:
(looking over to the blackened house)
That house?

MATT:
Yeah, that one. See any others around here in the boondocks?

ROB:
Why don't you go..we'll stay here.

MATT:
Noo we're all going

LUKE is under the hood pulling fuse after fuse out and pluging a surge meter into each empty slot.

FAITH:
(pointing to LUKE)
Even Dr. Frankenstien?

MATT:
Yeah even him, he's never going to figure out what it is.

ROB and FAITH get out of the car and stand by LUKE.

LUKE pokes his head out from the hood.

LUKE:
Almost got it figured out
(he smiles and goes back to work)

MATT:
Come on Luke we're going to that house.

LUKE:
Oh?

MATT:
Yeah.

LUKE:
Well I almost got it..

FAITH:
I'm not going to stand in the rain and listen to you two Bevis talk all night, now lets go and call a tow!

ROB:
Yeah.

ROB and FAITH start toward the house.
MATT looks over to LUKE, LUKE looks as perplexed as him.

LUKE:
Since when did they ever agree on anything?

MATT:
Every since the towns people took a vote the Frankenstein should be impeached.

LUKE:
Huh?

MATT:
(laughing)
Nevermind, lets go.

LUKE and MATT catch up to FAITH and ROB. They walk to the front door. MATT knocks. Nothing. MATT knocks again. An upstairs light turns on.

ROB:
I think someone is comming.

MATT:
It's about time.

They wait outside as it starts to pour. LUKE gets off the front step and circles to a front window and peeks in using his hands as a sheild.

LUKE:
I see a back door, I'm going to go try it.

MATT:
Ok, we'll be here if its open.

LUKE:
Someone stay at the window and keep an eye out.

ROB:
I'll do it.

MATT:
I'll be at the front door.

MATT turns to the door, LUKE heads out back. FAITH stays at the window with ROB.

MATT:
(to FAITH)
You comming?

FAITH:
I'll be fine here, plus your right around the corner.

MATT:
Ok, yell if you see something Rob.

ROB:
Gotcha bro.

MATT turns the corner, and ROB looks into the window.

FAITH:
Anything?

ROB:
No I don't even see Rob yet.

ROB drops down onto the ground, sitting just below eye level of the window, FAITH sits besides him.

FAITH:
This was supposed to be a vaction, not a military op. He's got me sitting watch duty.

ROB:
(turning to her)
You did want to stay here.

FAITH:
Yeah..but this isn't what I call a road trip cross-country.

ROB:
(looks around)
Well this is Country.

FAITH laughs and gets up.

FAITH:
A little too country. I bet he's already in, or he'd be back around by now.

ROB:
Yeah, lets go out front.

They get up and turn the corner. The upstairs light turns off.

FAITH and ROB walk up the front steps behind MATT.

FAITH:
Boo!

MATT turns around nearly falling off the top step.

MATT:
AHHH!

FAITH:
(holding him stable)
Oh sorry babe, didn't mean to sweep you off your feet.

MATT:
Sweep me? You almost killed me. Where's Luke?

ROB:
He didn't get in yet?

MATT:
Did you see him come in?

ROB:
Well I really didn't watch for him much, I was..

ROB looks at FAITH

MATT:
Doing what? You had one simple task and you ****ed it up, God damn Rob if your head wern't screwed on you'd lose it.

ROB:
Hey buddy, you watch what your saying, cause one day..

Before he can finish LUKE can be heard screaming. The front door is slammed up against by the inside violently again and again.

LUKE can be heard screaming for help just inside the door. Then silence as a pool of blood pools out from under the door.

MATT:
(stepping away from the door)
Oh my God, what the ****!

FAITH:
(pounding on the door and screaming)
Luke! Luke! God open the door Luke!

MATT:
Lets go, lets go!

FAITH:
No! Luke is in there!

ROB:
(taking her arm)
Lets go!

ROB and FAITH run down the steps, MATT walks backwards watching the blood as it begins to drip onto the second top step.

ROB and FAITH stop mid-stride in the yard.

MATT:
(stopping besides them)
What is it?

FAITH:
(pointing to the car)
Look.

Someone is bending into the opened hood, holding a flashlight.

MATT:
(whispering)
The barn, slowly..

They turn for the barn, as the man with the flashlight points the beam in their direction.

MAN:
Hey! You there! Stop!

ROB:
Shit!

They run to the barn door and go inside locking it behind them. Inside the barn farm equipment hangs from the walls, gently banging against each other from the door being slammed. MATT picks up a flash light but hesitates to turn it on.

MATT:
I'm going to see what is at the other end.

FAITH grabs his arm.

FAITH:
I'm comming with you.

MATT:
Ok, you stay by the door, and this time keep watch ok Rob?

ROB is leaning against the wall, shaking.

MATT:
Rob..?

ROB:
Ok, I ****ing got it!

MATT and FAITH walk to the end of the barn. MATT switches on the flashlight.

The interior of the barn is broken up into two parts. One the main area stocked with axes, chains, pitch forks, saws. A chain saw hangs from a meat hook on the ceiling. MATT goes over to look at it. The blades are dull and the saw is red.

The rest of the barn is fenced off for animal use. The outside door to the pen pushes open slowly, and a pack of Alpacas enter the pen. Their eyes red with the glow of the light, steam comming from their nostrals. MATT and FAITH sigh at the sight of the docial but stampeding animals.

MATT and FAITH turn back toward ROB.

ROB is standing by the fence looking at one of the Alpacas in the face.

ROB:
Ugly things...ewoks with hooves really..

ROB turns to check on the window. No one is comming. He turns toward MATT and FAITH as he hears them walking. MATT's flashlight is on the ground spinning, MATT and FAITH cannot be seen.

ROB:
(calling out in a whisper)
Matt...Matt!

Chains rattle and ROB turns to see the farm equipment on the wall, the spot with the axe is missing.

Suddenly as FAITH screams the lights in the barn flicker. The breaker at the end off the barn is sparking and MATT's body lies under it with a cable in his mouth, quivering with the beat of 10,000 volts.

In the strobe-light effect of the barn the shadow of someone swinging the axe can be seen on the wall, the wall shadows get darkier, not with less light but blood spatter.

ROB turns to run but falls over a wheelbarrow snapping his neck as he falls. ROB lies in a stain of blood on the hay under him, shaking and vomiting blood.

Footsteps approch him and you can hear ROB mummering a soft plea. The meat hook and chain that the chain saw was hanging on falls onto ROB's chest. Buckling under the wieght ROB vomits again. A tall shadow covers him as the lights are still flickering.

The barn sits in darkness, the windows illuminating as the light flickers. The man with the flashlight walks towards the barn.
