As is the album it's on, Master of Reality.

I really like their first album too. And Master of Reality is one of my favorites.

Sabotage, Paranoid and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath are great too.

Yes, indeed. I wish I had Sabotage, I have never heard it.

Go get it then, it's quite possibly their best ever. It's also their most progressive album, as a prog fan you'll love it.

I recommend all of the Ozzy albums + Heaven & Hell. Good Stuff.

I love that album (Sabotage) and I've got similar tastes to the ones you've got (Genesis, King Crimson, Van der Graaf...) You'll love that one. There's a song called "Megalomania" which is one of the best things they have ever done. And don't forget about "Symptom of the Universe" and its killer riff!

I'd say The Writ and Megalomania are the proggiest pieces on the album, both great. And you shouldn't forget about Hole in the Sky which also has one of Iommi's best riffs ever.

The Ronnie James Dio albums are all excellent also. Heaven and Hell, The Mob Rules and Dehumanizer.

That's a hidden gem in fact. I think it's the last great album they released and one of their heaviest and darkest. The production and the sound of the drums and the bass are terrific on that one.

but that was a long explanation one black sabbath & how u like them......but you guys should not be like ooo goto another fourm & say that......he probly could not find a fourm....who knows...he just wants to show his black sabbath pride! :n)

It was a long but interesting narrative about being a kid growing in the eighties and discovering heavy metal, it brought me back some nice memories... though I was 11 at 1986 not at 1980/1.
