Yes, "Raving and Drooling" was an early version reworked into what we know as "Sheep." As for where you can find it, I really don't know. Maybe some bootlegs (which I don't buy).

It's on any bootleg from 1974 & 1975. Go on ebay.

I'm listening to it now (Boston 1975). I agree, it is better than the "Animals" version, although I am partial to "Sheep"'s synth intro.

I like the synth intro, but the thundering bass line just has more of a energetic feeling.IMHO.

Yes...the bassline makes all the difference. It gives it a sort of savagery that "Sheep" lacks. This song has teeth, compared to the other.

I agree, the lyrics even have more teeth."Babbling and snapping at far away flies, we would zig zag our way back through memories of boredom and pain."
