a little poem

well, this is a song i threw together on the piano in about thirty minutes the other day. i love how people say that, to excuse the potential ineptitude of the poem. i'll say it anyway, to be normal. a little choppy w/out music, but what the hell.
i think its pretty easy to interpret, but of course i do, i wrote it.
Be honest and unmerciful

Life Has Never Been Fair

You see the land
so fruitful and unmanned
you see the trees, rivers and beneath
You begin to live
under the bridge of sin
You dance away
another land enslaved

so you walk onto your ship
and set sail to the cliff
you must be out of your mind

You here the words
of the man unearthed
you write them down
another voice with a crown
There's no other way you say
to live your life today

and on and on
you burn the bridges you walk
you cut the throat
of the ones who once spoke

and you float on with a spear in your hand
you cry, life has never been fair
Life has never been fair.
Life has never been fair
when your the voices, you hear upstairs.

That's pretty good. Sounds even better with the piano I imagine.

I like it.

This probably isn't the intent, but when I read it, I think of that Bugs Bunny/ Elmer Fudd cartoon "That's Opera, Doc"... You know... "Kill the Wabbit!!!"

Pretty good, even without any music for it. I like the flow and the tone, adn the meaning speaks to me really. Very nice. ^__^
