Seamus

I really really like this song, but who else thinks it wouldve been better without the dog and three of four more verses?

Re: Seamus

You think so? Huh, I guess I'm just more of a blues lover, but I really can't say that because I listen to all types of music. I don't know, agree to disagree.

Re: Seamus

I'd have to say I really like Seamus. It does work well as is, but I do admit that another verse or two would be nice. I remember a coffee house at my high school in 2000 or 2001, two teachers went up and played Seamus and they repeated the verse a few times, alternating vocals back and forth. It was really good like that. It would have been cool to see Floyd do a similar version.

Re: Seamus

I think the dog part is perfect with the song. It's unexpected, but once you think about it, it's like wow, the dog noises go excellent with the song. As far as verses go, maybe a few more would have been nice, but for just a fill in, it does nicely.

Few questions though, the dog? Was it one of the band member's pet? Was it the same dog that was on Live at Ummagumma?

Two different dogs. Seamus was owned by Steve Marriot of Humble Pie. Mademoiselle Nobs was owned by Madonna Bouglione, a friend of Pompeii producer Adrian Maben. Both were Afghan hounds, obviously the Bing Crosbys of the canine world.
