I have been getting those "server is too busy" things too.
And also, some of the threads won't open for me it just goes to a "page cannot be displayed" deal.

Ctrl-F5 seems to work for refreshing a page, but only temporarily.

Our web host provider has recently tried to upgrade the server kernel. Apparently, it did not work, so they had to undo the upgrade and apply another update. Since we have not modified anything on the website, I am pretty sure these problems have been caused by this process.

I have already contacted our web host provider, so let's see if they find a solution to all this mess.

I would really appreciate if you could please keep track of anything unusual, such as the ones posted above.

Thanks a lot for the heads up and let's hope they can fix this soon.

Ok, the verification and update of server software and database rebuilding is complete. Please let me know if you still experience such problems, as well as any speed/performance increase or any other issues, good or bad. APFFN appreciates your help.

Yeah, me too. And I found that the ctrl-F5 thing only works on the laptop, not on this computer. So for this one I still have to do the 'delete temporary internet files'.

I've taken to viewing the site on my phone as the site on my PC hasn't fully refreshed since Sunday. 'Is Syd autistic' in 'new topics' was starting to taunt me. I'm also having trouble with PMs, whereby I have to completely delete everything in my inbox (a shame, that. There were some really lovely private messages stored there) just to read any new ones, otherwise they just don't show. It's a funny joyous feeling when the deleted messages magically reappear, as they have done since Sunday, but I can't help but feel that once the site is fixed, they'll go to the light once and for all. Anyway, this phone's broadband enabled, so it's not a stretch doing it on this, more a laborious task. Feel like Daniel Day Lewis, ha ha, 'my left thumb.'

"Nnnnng,"

Mark

Definately weird. Let's try a little old trick, that has worked before when several users where having problems: please try logging off, going back to the main page, confirming you're seen as a visitor, cleaning your temporary internet files and only then logging in again.

I haven't been able to recreate such problems myself, all threads seem to be updated in the "newest thread" box in the main page, the who's online seems to be working correctly, etc, etc.

Anyway, please let me know. Thanks!

I've deleted the temp files and refreshed and everything's hunky dory. Haven't checked my PMs yet... hold on... ah, there's that bittersweet moment.

They've moved on.

I had tried that earlier and it didn't work. But now I can't even seem to log out.
