I have the auto-login option on so whenever I start to get those "Server Too Busy" things, I just close the window, and then open Internet Explorer again and come back to the site, and I can start going through the forums again without any problems. So maybe some of yall should try what I do and see if it works, if nothing else does, of course.

Re: Problems to surf the site.

We are getting hit by the Yahoo crawler, that is, they are accessing hundreds of pages per minute. Since the website is dynamic, that means a high processing load for the server, and that's why we have been having all these server too busy messages. They annoy me as well.

I'm working on it, hopefully in the next couple of weeks we'll have it fixed.

Re: Problems to surf the site.

You're supposed to be able to put a stop to it by adding a robots.txt file... But I have heard some people have gotten mixed results, like a short period of much higher crawler activity.

Just my 2 cents.

Me too, it's getting to be a bit of a chore to access the site at all recently.

Re: Problems to surf the site.

^ Me three, sometimes I get on and everything works fine.
Then right after I get finished typing a big post, it goes to the "server is too busy" page.

Yep, I am aware of that, Rob. We already block crawlers from indexing our images, for instance, to avoid further problems, all with robots.txt. However, it is good that our pages get reindexed and refreshed by the major robots, so that's why I don't block them.

We'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks... And if thinks don't get better, we'll get another server.

Re: Problems to surf the site.

That just means that there are no new posts since you last checked, it's not a problem.

That's not it either, it's too complicating to explain!

I think I know what you are saying, in which case, I don't know what that could be.

The message above my Avatar just switch randomly from "learning to fly" to "Ummagumma."
