"... remains..." "Please, Antony, not with you! Dave is ... nuts" "Yes, yes" "No it isn`t" "... sure..." Does anybody know exactly? Thanks in any case!

Well, I'm not sure about all of it, but just before the fiddle kicks in, I think I hear the man say, "I was sure of it," or "I'm sure of it." Early in the dialogue I think I hear something like "Man, messenger..." Other than that, I don't know. I'll try to find a link to the Echoes FAQ for you. --Bud Sturguess, Texas

I forget the exact text, but at the end of it, the composer, Schumann is mentioned. Dave was pulled up about this in an interview because the following music obviously isn't Schumann. He admitted that he'd recorded it off of his car radio and had no idea who it was. Best I can do. Sorry. Cheers, Mark

Actually, the weird noises and radio sounds between Have a Cigar and Wish You Were Here were picked randomly from a radio. The music includes a snippet of Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony, and an interview which says "and you, Derek, this star nonsense, what do you think of it?" To which, Derek replies "Mmm, Schumann". In concerts, the band extended this bit by playing live off-air samples from the local town radio, and then switching into the pre-recorded part from the album. The music just before and just after the random radio noises are played "as if it were being played through a radio". Cheers, Mark

I'm also pretty sure that as it segues into the track, 'Derek' says something to the effect of "Disciplinary remains, merciful..." before the aforementioned 'star nonsense' bit. Cheers, Uberfixxlevy
