Nick to join Dave on new tour

It's common knowledge that Dave is and has been working on solo material for quite some time now, and that a perhaps tour is most likely in the works.

Well I have some good news from what I consider a good source (sorry, can't reveal who). I was told today by an insider that Dave has been talking Nick into joining him on solo tour throughout Europe of approx. 25 dates in early to mid 2006. It is possible that the two will come to the US to do small intimate theater type venues in the fall of 2006, but not a certainty by far. It sounds unlikely that Rick will joinup as well, but one never knows.

It is rumored however, that Ray Manzarek (keyboardist, The Doors) will join them for a few dates in Europe as well as Roy Babbington (bassist, Soft Machine), and Jorma Kaukonen (guitarist, Jefferson Airplane).

If Nick joins Dave, they will not tour under the name Pink Floyd, but will opt to use "David Gilmour and Company" instead.

It shall be interesting to see if some of this, any of this, all of this pans out. I will sell my beautiful red balloon if need be to get a ticket, that's for sure.

On the grounds that it's probably the usual bollocks.

That's what I love about you, Cheese - your eternal optimism...

(although I gotta agree with you on this one)

Look, folks.... under normal circumstances a rumour like this would be "the usual bullocks" as Cheesey so eloquently puts it. Particularly the involvement of such high-profile guests.

But for Chrissakes, Nick has been travelling all around the world promoting his book for the past 5 months, answering the question "is the band ever going on tour again?" at least 432 times every day with a straight-faced "NOT THAT I AM AWARE OF." He has repeatedly made it clear that David's reluctance to tour is the only obstacle to Pink Floyd getting back together in some fashion.

So it's more than the usual bullocks: it's complete and absolute bullocks.

The "I can't reveal my sources" thing is usually a dead give away.

Then of course by some freak of nature this story is true, we'll have to bend down and kiss Fletch's butt.
But I doubt it.

I would tell you my source, but you wouldn't know him anyway.

And if people found out that he leaked, he'd probably lose his job.

That's no way to treat a friend and co-worker.

Then in that case you shouldn't have posted this AT ALL. You knew people would ask who your source was. If it's true we all would have found out sooner or later on our own, and it seems to me that YOU posting this in the first place puts him in danger of losing his job (if it's true) as it points out that he blabbed in the first place.
Trust me, there are people with the internet who can find out who you are and thus find out who your friend is.
Way to treat a friend co-worker.

Just looking out for your friend there.I just hope his bosses don't see your post and think "Hey what the----let me see, who knew Dave and Nick were touring together?" and they could narrow it down to your friend....IF this is true anyway.
