Misheard lyrics?

Has anyone had any Floyd lyrics they've misheard for a long time?

Until I actually read the lyrics a while ago, I thought Echoes went

"and everything is green for somebody..."

Re: Misheard lyrics?

I used to think the lyrics to "It's a Miracle" were

"she said meet me in the garden, I've got salmon in my tear"

rather than

"she said meet me In the Garden of Gethsemene my dear"

right up until I got the In the Flesh DVD and read the subtitles.

Angry Re: Misheard lyrics?

That's an old discussion but it must be BRIDGE. Fridge wouldn't make any sense at all. But I am sure somebody will come up here claiming it would. I have had that discussion too often to not know how this is going to develop.

Now that's a theory I like. And I admit that the footage is a little on your side but then again that was the live version (which has always been inferior anyway) and the studio version, alas the original, is the Bridge.

If it should ever return on a Pink Floyd set list, which I doubt, we shall keep our ears and eyes wide open.

Re: Misheard lyrics?

One, it is unlikely that they will ever agree to tour again.
Two, I doubt they have the vocal range for the song anymore
Three, without David Sanborn the song isn't worth doing, just listen to the song live the last time it was performed, without the sax it is very mundane.

Re: Misheard lyrics?

That's right, I witnessed that on the Berlin show. No sax, too little vocal range - not quite the song we know and love. So we better wave it bye, bye, I guess.

Re: Misheard lyrics?

The one I used to mishear was on Have a Cigar.

instead of "Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar. You're gonna go far,"

i heard "Come over here, big boy, have a cigar. You're gonna go far,"

oops.
