Re: Duplicate Threads

Yeah, I don't know what's happening. We used to all (well most) get along and now everything is different.

Re: Duplicate Threads

Nope, that's not the case. Has been some dissent amongst the young pretenders, but not enough to register any kind of alarm amongst the true black meats.

Re: Duplicate Threads

What's going on with all these new members? They think they can just come in and make up their own rules and push everyone around.

As if the whole DDT issue has never been discussed before.

Re: Duplicate Threads

Every "new members" thread always ends with a "welcome, please read the forum rules and don't create any ddt thanks" type message. They can't say they weren't told.

Thumbs down Re: Duplicate Threads

Posted by someone a bit back...

A general announcement..
Hey to everyone, especially all you newbies who like to whine and moan about the unfairness of DDT's and see how far you can push us " pompous old bastarrds with our heads up our collective asses"..

You don't need to push me very far any more.. I'm too old and lazy to care anymore.. I'll ban yer ass if you so much as misspell anything..

There was a time when I was a kind sensitive type.. Now I am a callous old bastard who could give a shit..

Play by the rules or get the hell out, by your choice or not. I really don't care what you think or have to say..

Gotta problem with that, take it up with Paulo. If he want's me to step aside as a Mod, great, I'm tired of all your crap anyway.
...
...
Sounds like he's a little mood-e. I have only posted on this forum a few times, and I probably would post more if the majority of people on here were not so grumpy. Even when I am just browsing the forums about half of what I see has some person in it saying "this is a DDT". It's even complained about so much that you made a rule for it.
"No duplicate threads: DDT (Dreaded Duplicate Threads) are not welcome on this board. If you are starting a new thread, please check to make sure a thread on the same topic does not already exist. Several topics have been discussed to death already. Please do not be afraid to post in old threads, new opinions on old topics are always welcome."
When you complain about it so much that you make an abbreviation for it, that is a little rediculous (yes I know that is spelled wrong, ban me...and you misspelled your in the sentence saying you well ban us for misspelling?) I'm not trying to sound mean or anything, but this is a forum, and if you get annoyed whenever someone posts in it then you're just dumb.

Re: Duplicate Threads

And here we go again. It's our rules, which you agreed upon. If you don't like them, just leave, it's that simple. Why oh why there is always people who think they can come here and do whatever they want, because "the internet is a free place"?

Paulo: I venture the reason is because too many people take "Free Speech" a little TOO literaly on the Net.

Not that there is any problem with that - it's just that people forget that with "free speech" comes "responsibility to behave like a civilised person".

Not to mention that people alse forget that most message boards are "Authoritarian" - everybody is a "Guest" of the "webmaster" (who is the host).

*sigh*

I think people tend to forget the regular rules of politeness when it comes to online message boards.

regards,
