Personally, I think Paulo give users a lot of leeway when it comes to behaviour on here, and I must admit, I would not be nearly so tolerant of people coming on here whinging about rules that, like Paulo says, they were happy enough to agree to when they joined this place.

But then again, I can be somewhat of a totalitarian at times.

Si, from my experience, an online forum immitate a lot of real life. We have all kinds of people here: from polite and civilized to vandals and everything in between. I don't really like the word "Authoritarian" because most people relate it with abuse of power and, in message boards, with censorship. There are all kinds of boards on the Internet, and we all saw (or experienced) quite a few go down in flames. Unfortunately, rules are necessary and have to be enforced, although I try to keep APFFN as democratic and open as possible.

A few users, however, do indeed forget that participating in our online community is a privilege and NOT a right. That APFFN, as you mentioned, is comparable to an extension of my house, in the sense that everyone is a guest here. A guests that have agreed to certain conditions to stay at APFFN. It's really that simple.

Looks like he was banned, way to go guys. And I totally agree with what he's saying, most of the forums here barely get one post a day and its just the same five people being weird to eachother and no real discussion going on. If you can't be bothered to respond to a new duplicate thread, don't. If nobody is interested in it, it will get bumped down and if people do reply then clearly they're interested and after all isn't that the point of this board?
