If I lived in NYC I'd be all over it. Which "Greatest Hits" is it exactly?

The "Grreatest Hits" is Buddy Holly's, but I don't know which Volume.

Re: "Meddle" Show, NYC - Sunday, March 20th "Meddle" Live in NYC - Sunday, March 20t

I've been meaning to get this posted, but life has been busy. Anyway:

Thanks all for the interest. The turn-out was good, and we all had a really great night. thankfully, it's been recorded for posterity, and I've put up the entire concert (all of "Meddle" and one bonus song) as audio over at our site.

A couple of warnings: the audio is from two sources - the desk mix, dry; and a Sony Mini-Disc recorder. The both had advantages and drawbacks, but blended together the sound imporved substantially. The vocals are still too loud, particularly noticable on Echoes, where the pitch is occasionally (shall we say) 'iffy.'

Also, for the purists: due to our love for the source material, we tried to remain as faithful as possible to the record. In some cases, we also borrowed from various live performances from the period (BBC & Pompeii, particularly), in areas where the studio effects proved too unique to reproduce live.

The only song that diverges wildly from the album version is "A Pillow of Winds," which just kept sounding flat and lifeless in practice. We eventually decided to rethink it as if Floyd c. 1971 had arranged is as a full band piece, while still retaining some of the restful and meditative qualtiy of the album version. We used the live performances of "Fat Old Sun" from that period as a guide to how it might have sounded. I'm sure we missed the mark on that, but it was a fun experiment.

Anyway, here's the link: http://www.copper-man.net/pages/music.html. Let me know what you think.

While you're there, feel free to check out some of our original material.

-Dave

Just right-click these and "Save as..." to your harddrive. Like right now. Walk, don't run.

Once again, great job. I love it! You guys rock. My favourite album never sounded so sweet... and the encore was a great choice. Everyone needs to hear this!

Thanks for posting those links, Botley - and thanks for the kind words, too!

Note to anyone who wants to make a disc: The tracks are banded, so if you drop them onto CD, make sure to turn the delay between tracks to zero seconds, for that seamless 'just like live' experience.

Sorry for the weird file names - I didn't think anyone would be looking at the source.

-D.
