A Momentary Lapse of Reason vs. The Division Bell

Also been discussed in the past but no poll was presented.

Here is a chance to vote. Which of these two albums do you find superior?

Both of them have been labeled as being not as good as Floyd's earlier work. Both are underrated in my opinion. But which do you prefer, overall, either musically, lyrically, or both.

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason vs. The Division Bell

I'd go with TDB although that album is still pretty bad.

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason vs. The Division Bell

The band wasn't as good without Roger. These albums rank last for my Floyd album rankings, but I would have to say that The Division Bell is better.

I really don't like AMLoR, but truely love TDB. So, for me, it's an extremely easy choice.

TDB ranks in my top 5 PF albums (and overall one of my favourites album ever) so, easy choice here.

I've always been more than happy to comply with your replys, but it's my #1 PF album and #1 album of all time! I love it to death. Not that I don't like AMLoR (probably the 0.1% of APFFN visitors who likes this album).

Actually one could be surprised, reading the "Top 5 Pink Floyd albums" thread (or whatever it is called), by the number of persons including AMLOR in their list. Apparently many people think that it's good enough to be one of their favourites.

It's not one of my favourites, but it's still better than the scrap heap that is TDB

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason vs. The Division Bell

I voted TDB.

I actually used to prefer AMLOR, but I quickly grew bored of it. AMLOR is vastly underrated, though.

Neither are very good, but TDB HAS grown on me somewhat. It's not something I can listen to more than a coupla times a month though.

Maybe that is because I posted my top 5 albums on the thread millions of times with a different username..... But it is indeed criminally underrated and I may have flamed many people for disliking it, and I apologise for doing so, but sometimes not recognising good 80's music makes me FURIOUS! Temper, temper.....sorry once again. To one his/her own....

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason vs. The Division Bell

I do like a lot of good 80's music (certified Numanoid) but have nothing but contempt for poor-quality 90's music which includes TDB in my opinion.

Good quality music you mean? Just joking, personal taste for music can't be argued (it can, however without a right or wrong).
