My admiration for Roger's solo career

I admire him so much because he accepted, basically, that his solo albums wouldnt be successful commercially and went ahead with this type of music, that the average person finds so inaccessible, in order to makes his own statements about the world and what he wanted to say.

He is the undisputed master of the concept album with Animals, The Wall, Dark Side Of The Moon, Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking, The Final Cut, Amused To Death and Radio KAOS to his name.

He can evoke emotion so well in his lyrics, my favourite are the lyrics to the song "Two Suns In The Sunset" which are so well written.

Roger, is one of a kind. I really do admire him.

I do too, even though he was a jerk to the other band members in the end, I still admire his excellent work.

Roger: The Most Egotistical Man on the Face of the Earth. But he plays a mean guitar. And I'd love to meet him.

Re: My admiration for Roger's solo career

I absolutely love Amused to Death. I just recently bought two copies of it, one to listen to, and one to have hot, passionate sex with. I'm finally admiring Roger's work. I took a long time though. The Final Cut is even growing on me quite a bit. Also, I'll be sure to check out Pros & Cons and KAOS soon.

Isn't the hole a tad small? Sounds painful.

Re: My admiration for Roger's solo career

He was the heart and soul of Floyd and gave the band it's identity. He's just really principled - that doesn't make you a bad person. And nobody writes lyrics like him.
