Re: What was your first car...?...

American automotive genius/nutcase John Z. DeLorean passed away today.

I mention that here because he was the father of the Pontiac GTO, of which I spoke earlier, and of which I hold sacred.

He also built the DeLorean in Belfast, N.I. (DMC) which cost the British Govt millions of pounds in subsidies before he went tits-up, so I doubt there are any tears shed for him there.

RIP, Z-man.

Trust me... it's actually hard to fail that test.

Re: What was your first car...?...

Well, I recently got my first car. An '88 Toyota Corolla 4WD Deluxe. It's cherry red. I like it, even if it is a bit dinky. It's a manual, but I've just recently gotten to where I'm confident enough to drive it around. If I can, I'll post pictures later.

Re: What was your first car...?...

My first car was a real babe magnet, a 1986 Austin Maestro City 1.3L. Quality rusty beige paintwork and brown interior with no roof fabric. Cost £100 at the auction in June '99.

Only real problem I had occured when I took it out for the first time and the gears broke, reverse started going forward and 1st gear became 3rd. That and if you shut the door hard the starter motor would disconnect itself.

1977 Toyota Celica GT Liftback. This was an awesome car. I bough it new in '77. Finished H.S. and went to college in this car.

5 sp manual and a 4.0 L 4 cylinder. 0 - 60 in under 7 sec. handled like a dream.

1973 ford maverick, fire engine red, 3 on the tree, 200 small block straight 6 cylinder, was my favorite car i ever owned. was good for cruising w/ my friends and jamming to some tunes, but she got rear-ended after 9 months, and started falling apart after that
