Amen to that. I'm a bass player and I find Roger boring and repetitive. He sticks to the D octave way too much.

When I played out with my Dad we did all Floyd songs. When we did Time I played it like Pratt. More fun to me that way. I would get told not to overplay it, but it fits. I overplay Breathe too, but I would do Roger's overplaying. (Yes, I've heard him overplay before. I think it was a '72 bootleg.)

I listen to the bass most of the time. Pratt is who I pay attention to in DSoT and Pulse. He was overplaying way too much in DSoT (Money adding an extra E and the bass solo. Cool solo, but it wasn't needed.) With Pulse he toned it down a bit, and that was entertaining. Better than Waters by far. I like Roger's singing better but he lost some points with me by Lip syncing the higher range part in Every Stranger's Eyes.
