If I understand you correctly - and that's a big "if" - you seem to be implying that they never used the name "Pink Floyd" without attaching the "Sound" suffix while "Tea Set" was still in use. But the band were always known as "the Pink Floyd", and "Sound" was just an optional add-on that disappeared around late 1966.

Perhaps Even the photos.

I think it's a good addition to any book-shelf...particularly for Floyd fans. And some interesting material / insights in there.

But if you're hoping to gain any greater insight into what it was like to be a part of the Floyd, you'll probably be disappointed. It's very guarded when it comes to emotions etc.

Sorry for not telling beforehand;Mine is actually the 2005 edition which appears in small print below First Published In 2004 sign;also the Live 8 is covered in post script.As for insights;may be as Nick mentione that Roger marked off what he thought was bollocks & so did David;Rick used a different color and Syd was never contacted.I was very much sobered by Nick and The Other 3's admission for Overlooking Syd's problem in "High Hopes For Pink Floyd" and the photo/comments of syd during the recording of WYWH---is that what is left of the great syd?"when we played Shine On You Crazy Diamond" Syd said "Why Bother It When They Had Already Played It".

If it's anything like the "ambient soundscape" on the PULSE cassette, then I'm fucking glad they never released it - it's absolute shite, far worse than even the most tired and wretched moments on The Division Bell.

You mean THE ONE ON THE CASSETTE!!!!!!!Yeah ;I agree if thats The Big Spliff;then I wont be bothering to have a look at it;all it contains is the sound f/x and varous such auditory examples .

Strangely though; when i bought the pulse mc;as soon as it was released ;i found "the Ambient Sounds" on B side of the DSOTM and encore cassette;But when I recently Bought the same PULSE again;THERE was No such music/sounds on it;instead Sony had the gall to break the live dsotm into 2 parts neatly destroying Any Colour You Like and Us & Them!!
