Re: "Vanilla Sky" Soundtrack

I'm not interested in seeing the movie or even buying the soundtrack. But judging from the endless advertisements of the film "Vanilla Sky" I know what it's about. Now, I heard on TV that the legandary BOB DYLAN has a part on the soundtrack. I don't know what song, or if it's a new song, but judging from the movie's plot and story, I'm guessing his "It Ain't Me Babe" song will be used. Please notify me if I'm right, so I can bask in my ego.

Have a look at the Sigur Ros post. That'll give you some info.

Re: "Vanilla Sky" Soundtrack

Well note that he sang folk rock for a while, and in that department of music, your voice isn't what's important.

Re: "Vanilla Sky" Soundtrack

Anyway:

radiohead, "everything in its right place"
paul mccartney, "vanilla sky"
peter gabriel, "solsbury hill"
nancy wilson, "i fall apart"
leftfield, "afrika shox"
sigur rós, "svefn-g-englar"
josh rouse, "directions"
bob dylan, "fourth time around"
r.E.M., "sweetness follows"
the monkees, "porpoise song"
chemical brothers, "where so i begin"
todd rundgren, "can we still be friends"
looper, "mondo 77"
red house painters, "have you forgotten"
nancy wilson, "elevator beat"
r.e.m., "all the right friends"
jeff buckley, "last goodbye"

So it's "Fourth time around", then.

Cheers,

Mark

Re: "Vanilla Sky" Soundtrack

I saw this film the other day. I wasn't able to tell what Bob Dylan track it was, as I don't the name to most his songs from his 40-someodd albums.

The film does have quite the soundtrack. Probably the best song as an opening that I've seen in a while (Everything In It's Right Place - Radiohead). But I don't think that that Radiohead track is on the CD soundtrack, unfortunately. Another track from a less prominent segment of the movie will be on it.

Njosvalen, however you spell it, was used quite well in the movie at quite the climax. The other Sigur Ros tracks weren't used for very long though, unfortunately.

Stiil, it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Cheers,
