That interview represents everything I love about Roger. Attitude to the maximum and not afraid to do so. I love where he compares himself to Lennon, right on Roger! How the hell could the other beatles perform as the beatles without Lennon (especially when Lennon was alive)? Wouldnt happen and I feel that the combo of Macca, Harrison and Starkey are way better than Gilmour, Mason and Wright.
And I love how Roger considers all the Live8 songs his solo work! Go Roger! You got to admit he's got balls galore. Not to mention he pretty much dismisses all his ex-band mates including Syd, while bashing Dave and Nick and just ignoring Rick totally. Great stuff. Really the lyrics are the main beef of a song, any professional guitarist can throw together some notes from a scale and make a solo. I feel some of Rogers best stuff is based on him on acoustic, Animals, the Final Cut and solo ventures. This is why I love and always will love Roger and everything he says and does. He could give a shite who he is gonna piss off, he just says whats on his mind!

I used to hate Roger but gradually he has won me round for the same reasons. You have to admire that level of unashamed arrogance.

I used to like this level of arrogance when I was 13-17 years old. I remeber going to the cinema to watch "Great Balls of Fire" and coming out feeling that Jerry-Lee Lewis and I were kindred spirits...

I'm 30 now and I've seen through experience that being modest is NOT bending over. You just don't need to show off every time, you KNOW what your real value is and you are proud of what you have achieved through years of work and effort.

I think that arrogance is a useless waste of energy that can be saved for better purposes.
