New dedicated server

Dear floydians,

I'm very glad to announce that in anticipation of our 10-year birthday (in the upcoming October), we finally have our very own dedicated server!

I'll let you in the details: it's an AMD Barton 3000, 1024 Mb RAM, 36 Gb SCSI hard drive, which should give us plenty of space to grow.

During these ten years, we first went from one free web hosting service (GeoCities) to another (RedRival), then to my old University, then to three or four shared web hosting providers, until we switched to our very own VPS (which is a dedicated server shared between very few sites) last August.

After all the server optimization we had done during the past two weeks, everything was good, but we didn't have much space to grow, so it was time to switch to this new dedicated server.

Anyway, to the end-user this should mean better speed, reliability and again, no more "server busy" error messages.
