Thumbs down Warning about the Pulse (bootleg) dvd

Hello. Long time since I have visited this forum.

I`m posting to warn you about that Pulse dvd. I got it today, along with the Delicate sound of thunder dvd.

The DSOT dvd was actually quite good, considering it's a VHS rip. The picture was good and the sound was better than the Pulse dvd, which I am about to flame to hell.

The pulse dvd got horrible sound. Smash your pulse vhs in the wall five times and then watch it - you will probably get a better sound from the vhs than this awful product

an example is Any Colour You Like. An excellent song with musicians jamming like there is no tomorrow.
But not on the dvd I'm afraid. The screetching and horrible noise that this dvd contains has never been heard before by me.
You'd probably skip this song when you find out that your soundsystem have seen it's better days if you don't turn it off before Guy Pratts bassrumble blows your tweeter, midrange and bass elements.

You all know what I'm talking about. Pratts fender produce so much bass that you can hear the noisepeaks on the VHS as well. But what surprises me is that these peaks are all over the dvd.

The other thing that amuses me alot, is the fact that the guys who made this "dvd" can't spell right, put the right songs so they fit the tracknumber and so on...

Some of you might have downloaded Pink Floyd - PULSE.mpeg - This is the same as the dvd. You can recognize this rip by the fact that One of These Days and Another Brick in The Wall - part 2 are between the DSOTM part and the encore. Though the tracklist is the same as on the CD....

I might be back with more crap about this dvd IF I watch it again. Now I'm off to watch the Delicate Sound of Thunder DVD.

And how many Pulse threads does this make now? It's been pretty well understood that every copy out there is a bootleg of some flavor.

Re: Warning about the Pulse (bootleg) dvd

ok. I just got an reply on an email I sent to the store earlier today.

I told them that this was clearly a bootleg which is illegal by Norwegian law. They strongly denied this, and wrote that this dvd is released by Pink Floyd's record company EMI in Spain, Portugal and several contries in south-europe.
I'd like to hear EMI's opinion on that matter.

They actually try to convince me that this is an official release because Amazon.com sell it.

For you guys who wants to know the price if this excellent dvd: 300 NOK or about 40 USD.

And for the norwegian guy who wants to know why I bought it. I bought it because I have to much money and tought "what the hell".
No really. I tought it was worth a try, and I knew that it was a vhs-rip. Even though I thought this dvd would have an equal quality as the vhs.

Oh, and by the way. By norwegian law I have an option to return a product I'm not happy with, so whats up with all the flaming about me being stupid? End of that discussion.

Thats really up to where you bought it. Still, time is money, and youll need a lot of time to get those people to give you back your money. Don't be too certain.. Anyway, your still the dumb guy for even trying.
