The Clash

I love the Clash. I have London Calling and Combat Rock (not so good). My favorite songs are The Guns of Brixton and London Calling. I've been meaning to get Give'em Enough Rope.

Re: The Clash

Awesome band, I love those guys...
It takes a speical band to lay down a track as heavy as "Guns of Brixton", then turn it around and do "Lost in the Supermarket".

Joe Strummer is sorely missed as well..

Re: The Clash

Get hold of Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros' album 'Streetcore'. You won't be disappointed.

Joe Strummer is a rockin' god. RIP

Yeah "London Calling" is a pretty cool LP, I've been meaning to check out "Sandinista!" and the rest of it

Re: The Clash

Ok, its boring old fart reminiscence time. In the days of my youth when I was one of the resident DJ's in Aberdeen University (students) Union, I had the great pleasure of supporting the Clash when they played there. The set was absolutely blinding, and the young punks in attendance po-goed the night away in good style. Not quite sure of the date but must have been '77 or '78...memory is a bit hazy due to a mispent youth.

Re: The Clash

The Clash could never be labelled as merely "punk", they were so much more than that.

You could add rock'n'roll and straight up rock to that also. A classic, timeless band.

Re: The Clash

I don't think so but that's part of their charm anyway.
