| Re: Our own Pink Floyd CD Presenting: Botley Smith and the Rundfunk Orchestra & Choir - Goodbye Blue Sky I removed the vocals from Roger's Live in Berlin DVD and replaced them with my own. Eddy was always comparing me to Joni Mitchell anyway! This is more or less the first take, and I flub a few notes here and there... but they're so buried in the mix, you can hardly hear what's going on. Plus I had a head cold at the time. And my sound card was busted. *shrug*

| Re: Our own Pink Floyd CD Quote:
Yeah, that's a pretty fair assesment. I promise you that we're actually quite GOOD singers, but the mix was not terribly flattering, and the monitors were terrible - which explains why the vocals are not only too LOUD, but also a bit flat in parts. Still, it's a live show with no overdubs, what are you gonna do? I've actually taken my "Echoes" obsession to the next level, and am doing a studio recreation of it. The vocals there will come together much more nicely. Might I ask you to post something of your own, so that I may return the savaging? |

I quite like it... admittedly, I've never heard that arrangement before, so now you've claimed it as your own in my mind (Roger's vocal will be second, if I ever hear it), but your voice has a remarkably similar timbre to Rog. Joni Mitchell? Last edited by Copper Man : 06-20-2005 at 02:31 PM. Reason: spelling |

| Re: Our own Pink Floyd CD A decent track from a decent album. What do you think of Deadwing? I loved it at first but now I think it leans towards mediocre.

| Re: Our own Pink Floyd CD I still love it. I think its definitely better than in absentia and i like it more with each listen. I just think its a great mix of songs and the lyrics make more sense than most of in absentia's. I'm really excited about the up the downstair re-release, which finally comes out in american stores tomorrow. I've heard clips of the new version and the drumming sounds excellent. the trains cover is at www.submech.com the lack of updates are due to us not knowing if we're even a band anymore. If we do continue, we need to find a new singer that is comfortable with their role as a singer. Me, the keyboard player and the bassist all want a good mix of progressive and hard rock, and are all talented musicians, where as our current vocalist can't really play any instrument well but wants to do everything, including thinking he makes all the decisions not just vocally but musically as well.
