Please enlighten me about "SIGNAL-1" and Baba O'Reilly and the whole game that Ray plays with that journalist. I really like The Who and "Sleeping Dog" from Townshend's solo "WHO CAME FIRST-the cover art is great>Pete standing above an infinite rows of eggs-who came 1st chicken or the egg??" is great.

Well I'm not too sure, but I think the whole thing about grid suits and whatnot tie into Lifehouse (which I have never heard). This is what some people have told me. Other than that, the story is rather clear: Ray High is an aging rocker who rarely puts out an album, so his manager (Rustus) has his journalist friend pretend to be some young teen who is looking to become a star, and is seeking Ray's help. She sends him some nude pictures of herself, and later it is exposed, and the resulting scandal gets Ray on the front pages, and his old albums start selling like crazy.

Other rock opera protagonists worth mentioning:
-Nicky (Queensryche, "Operation Mindcrime")
-Jimmy the Mod (The Who, "Quadrophenia")
-Rael (Genesis, "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway")
-Nicolas (Dream Theater, "Scenes From A Memory")
-Ziggy (David Bowie, "Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars")
-Ovo (Peter Gabriel, "OVO")
Nice list- excellent actually- I was going to say "Janie's Got A Gun" but that would hardly be a rock opera. Justice perhaps, but not opera.. cheers
