I recall when the original three were released in the 70's and 80's there was talk of 9 episodes. The three precursor episodes ( we now know as 1-2-3) then the main story trilogy (episoded 4-5-6), then a post story ( episodes 7-8-9) .

I always pictured Burt Reynolds and Ned Beatty as a pair of Jedi on a Journey down a strange river on a far off planet.

Maybe that could cast Schwartzenegger and DiVito as the villains.
