Trailer Trash?

Same story for our own "White trash".

The stereotype men is wearing "wife beaters" (vests), beer gut, mullet, beer in hand, shotgun in the other, married to the sister, with 10 ratty kids runnin' 'bout, livin' in a dump etc. etc. etc.

But it's just that - stereotype. There is one trailer park around here where I'd swear the stereotype fits to the T - but then again, I can't really differentiate it from the South or the East side of town (famous 'ghetto').

But there's also a trailer park community in Amherst which is quite respectable (hell, it looks better than my block!).

It's probably worth mentioning that the average trailer has more room than the European flats I've seen. Sizes range from 300-1400 sq ft (30 to 130 M sq.).

Not like a travel trailer, which might be 140 sq. ft. max, and a living hell with children and poor weather.

Although the term "trailer trash" has been around for awhile, I believe it came into prominence a few years ago when Paula Jones filed her lawsuit against Bubba, and the Clinton machine went to work to ridicule and demean her by calling her that.

It's probably a derivative of "Poor white trash", which goes back to civil war times.

I myself live in a trailer and I f***ing hate it. We get all the racing type rednecks and ratty kids with mullets. Also the racist teenagers and slutty girls. Not all trailer parks are like that though, but this one is. What a horrible place to live, I'm trying to move.
