Trailer Trash?

I believe this is incorrect.

THAT was the original intent of the thread - not to poke fun at "Trailer Trash".

Eddy was just asking an honest question and was asking for opinions of wheather the label/stereotype was deserved or not... instead of going along with the marketed stereotype presented by the media.

I'd say Eddy actually did something I wish more people would do - ask proper questions and broaden their horizons instead of acting from ignorance.

Consequently, I don't believe his intent for creating this thread was untoward, racist or "bash-you-ethnic-group" type mentality but for a relevent reason. I detect no untoward sentiment in the original creation of this thread - nor is the language markedly provocative.

Perhaps y'all are just reading too much into it?

The post was genuinely writtten in good faith, as I am often curious about the phrases, mostly USA in origin, which spring up on television or on the movies. So I hope no one took offence! ( it's OK Fletch, I never read all the threads myself... so you are still No1 spoon in my book)
Working, and supporting, people who are homeless and have addictions is a big part of my life and I have no desire to miscall people who have a different lifestyle from me. Over here ( Scotland) we have many labels that we attach to people who are different. So we have that much in common. At the end of the day they are flesh and blood, someone's son, someone's daughter. Over here the equivalent of 'trailer trash' are called 'travelling people' or 'tinks' and because of the label they get a lot of unfair treatment from people who have never been within a mile of them. What I can tell you, first hand, is that they are not ignorant, but quite the opposite. They are inventive, they are great story tellers, some are fine musicians and they are lovers of life. However there are good and bad in all walks of life, and people tend to remember the bad more than the good.

Commenting on my earlier post, when I said that it was odd that someone could insult a straight, white, male, I didn't have Eddy's post in mind at all, I was speaking of the world in general. Eddy's a good guy and I have no problem with this thread at all. Just to clear things up.
