Summer Music

What do you think is the best summer music? You know, happy, but relatively calm. Or really rocking but not out of control...you know the feeling.

For me, some of the best summer music is the Flaming Lips, the Toadies, Weezer, the White Stripes, and whatnot....what is some other good summer music?

(for those of you whose lives only differ in the summer by the weather, this isn't for you unless you have clear memories of the years that you still had emotions)

Re: Summer Music

Isn't it wrong to be exclusionary with respect to the emotionally-challenged?

Red Hot Chili Peppers. I think it was because when I really started getting into them it was summer, and I have fantastic memories of just sitting in my room, reading and listening to the willies.

cheers

Re: Summer Music

I seem to like The Grateful Dead more in summer than any other time.

I agree!

I would also say Porcupine Tree's "The Sky Moves Sideways" is an excellent summer day album. It's best when listened to while laying in some grass, just staring up at the clouds.

The Beatles...

And the Strokes. I really got into them the summer after my freshman year of college.

Re: Summer Music

For me it's Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffet and 60's classic rock.

Eric Johnson is great for the summer - particularly Venus Isle.

I forgot all about Jimmy Buffett (my daddy...lol)

He's one of my favourite musicians of all time.
