Hello! Person being discussed here!

Da_Floyd_Fan: To correctly answer your question, BoaB is a HE, thanks for asking.

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason Vs. The Division Bell

Ive said it before in another thread, but AMLOR and TDB were excellent albums. There's a weight of pressure on them because they have the PF name on them. But in a musical sense they are enjoyable albums with excellent music. We all wish that a new album would come out, but sometimes i reckon whats the point, because there'll always be unsatisfied floyd fans, that demand to much.

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason Vs. The Division Bell

If they would make a new album, I'm not sure I would like it, if it is in Amlor and TDB style. AMLOR and TDB are my least fave PF albums. And Amlor is much worse than TDB. That's what I say.

AMLOR is a weak album. Just some songs are kinda good, but as a whole I don't see it as a creative album, or whatever.

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason Vs. The Division Bell

I see this like picking the hottest looking girl in prison. It ain't gonna be pretty. Both of these albums have serious deficiencies. AMLOR is musically kinda Floyd sounding, but far too stiff and the writing is very hit or miss. TDB is more consistent, but less impressive. It's very mediocre. With none of the good stuff from AMLOR, but less of the bad too. It's kinda in the middle. If Dave didn't have to write songs and bring in all the session guys, I'm sure it would come out better. I can't imagine it's easy having to bounce ideas off of Wright and Mason. It must be hard being the only creative guy left in the band.

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason Vs. The Division Bell

I have never heard TDB, but I did buy AMLOR at Wal-Mart a while back for 10 bucks...After sticking it into my CD player, I quickly removed it....now, it is being used as a coaster in my living room...

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason Vs. The Division Bell

The only thing that sucks in AMLOR is:
1.The dogs of war
2.A new machine (both parts goddamnit!)

The rest is pure perfection, btw, one slip is the least discussed PF song....ain't it?Or main theme or something....

I've mentioned Main Theme heaps of times, it's a good tune. Funky!

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason Vs. The Division Bell

And with off-topic apologies, I must add that I think no-one MORE than Bride of a Bull has promoted the MORE album MORE often than any other PF Fan here. Perhaps, and happily, not any MORE.

Dramatic Theme from MORE is fab as well.

MORE Floyd,
Byron

Re: A Momentary Lapse of Reason Vs. The Division Bell

Ok,we have moved on to discuss the MORE album! Personally, this album is one of those PF albums that I haven't listened, apart from the nile song, ibiza bar and cymbaline. I don't know about you,but isn't quicksilver pretty wierd?
