The DB is one of favorite floyd albums(4th in fact) I think it sounds a lot more floydian than ALMOR. The guitar work is much better than in ALMOR, not to mention Nick and Richard are much more active in division. The lyrics are better in DB and the music as well. The only thing ALMOR has over the DB is the album name. Its not that I dislike ALMOR it's just that I love the Division Bell!!

I totally agree with you on everything except one thing. I like the name Division Bell better than AMLOR. Division Bell is a far superior recording. ![]()

I enjoy TDB much more! Though the two are my "un-favorite" PF albums. Together with "Ummagumma Studio" The king of Pukeland ![]()

Why do you all like DB better than AMLOR? I would say the guitar solos in, for example, On The Turning Away, and Sorrw, are far better than anything in division bell. I would say the lyrics in AMLOR are better also (the above two songs are also good examples of this), and I believe the music is generally more upbeat, catchy, and...well...enjoyable. Anyway...just a thought...no-one is wrong, just decided someone needed to provide some balance to the conversation (and I do enjoy AMLOR more). Please don't bite my head off!!!

AMLOR doesn't sound like a Floyd album.

Yes- and the 80's style production does it no favours whatsoever. Cheers, Mark

I agree, though I think David's "About Face" suffers from this much worse in most parts, it's total 80's, much more so than AMLOR. I liked his first solo album better.

Driven, I really like On The Turning away, in fact it may be my favorite PF song since CN. But I still think the guitar work is much better in the DB. Marooned, What do you what from me, High Hopes, Coming back to life, all feature some good guitar playing. Cheers, The Whiz King

Fair enough. The first Pink Floyd album I heard was Delicate Sound of Thunder, and I honestly had no idea that some of the songs were written by a "different" group. Now, of course, I know the whole sordid story, but I still think the songs from AMLOR sound better alongside the old stuff than DB songs. There's a couple of songs on AMLOR that do the old "shivers down spine" thing to me (turning away, Terminal Frost), but none of the songs on DB do that to me. Anyway, thanks for allowing me an opinion. Any Floyd shits over young Britney and Co. ![]()

Now, I like AMLOR less 'cause it has the damn new machine songs. Those are so damn un-inspired! Any Floyd album rocks over anything else. ![]()

I love Lapse of reason cuz it is genuine 80's.(i love 80's music obviously) I can definitely say that Signs of Life, Terminal Frost, and Yet Another Movie are time capsules of the 80's sound.
