The first time I heard it, I've never heard anything like it!

yes it is a great song. one of the first non-darkside songs i heard. i couldn't get it out of my head.

I think it's one of the defining tracks of the Syd Barrett era. It's far from being my favorite Floyd tune, but it does have the strength to actually help define an era, I gotta give it that.

From THIS era, my current sig should give a clue as to my favourite: "Remember a Day"

My all-time favourite PF song/track/dealy is "Wish You Were Here".

But ask me again in about a week and both may have changed. :grin:

Pink Floyd's best works wasn't simple songs like see Emily play, but Rather long compositions with Various Movements i.e. Shine on you Crazy Diamond,Atom heart Mother, Saucerful of secrets, Echoes, and Long complicate songs like Careful with that Axe Eugene, Set the controls for the Heart of the sun, Astronomy Domine, Embryo, Cymbaline,etc.
