Question about "Is There Anybody Out There?"

This is drving me crazy and I can't find the answer online anywhere.

What are the things being said during the beginning of "Is There Anybody Out There?" from The Wall. It sounds like a conversation between a man and a woman.

I'm sure this is a DDT but I'm buggered if I can find anything. Anyway you'll be delighted to know that I can't help you but I'm sure Botley will show up soon and save the day.

“Well, only got an hour of daylight left. Better get started”
“Isn't it unsafe to travel at night?”
“It’ll be a lot less safe to stay here. You’re father’s gunna pick up our trail
before long”
“Can Loca ride?”
“He'll have to ride… Parker, time to go! Parker, thank you for everything”
“Goodbye Chenga”
“Goodbye miss …”
“I’ll be back”

Something like that, anyway.

It sounds like Vera Lynn to me...but I dunno I took a guess

Vera Lynn doesn't have an American accent.

The woman (Miss Tyson) is an Aussie. The "Shangra" character was an Aborigine friend of hers.

It is from a Gunsmoke episode. I saw it once on TV, recognized the names "Shangra" and "Lorka" and taped it to see exactly what the dialog was.

Here it is:


Marshall Dillon: Well, we've only about an hour of daylight left; better get started."

Miss Tyson: "Is it safe to travel at night?"

Dillon: "It'll be a lot less safe to stay here; your father's gonna pick up our trail before long."

Miss Tyson: "Can Lorka ride?"

Dillon: "He'll hafta ride. Lorka! Time to go! Shangra, thank you for everything. Lets go."

Miss Tyson: "Goodbye, Shangra"

Shangra: "Goodbye Missy."

Miss Tyson: "I'll be back, one day."

Shangra: "The bones have told Shangra."

Miss Tyson: "Take Care of yourself."

Shangra: "Marshall, look after my missy."

And I thought I was obsessed.
