System of a Down backmasking

For those who don't know, backmasking is messages hidden in the lyrics of a song when played backwards.

I found this one from System of a Down's Mezmerize, Track #2 B.Y.O.B.
The forward lyrics are "Dancin in the desert blowin up the sunshine." Backwards it says "Precious satan, the one who's satan is me."

i couldn't get a .wav link uploaded, so try it out for yourself. it works trust me.

Re: System of a Down backmasking

I found another couple, same CD. On track three somewhere, reversed you hear something about, satan saves our music, and another voice saying "go away christian," and "stay away christian."

Also, ath the end of track 7, "violent pornography", forwayrds it says "can you say brainwashing, it's a nonstop disco", right at the end of the song. backwards there is a voice whispering what sounds to be "listen, listen, listen" then it says (and this took me about five tries to makeout, but now it's obvious, mind you, i had no way of knowing what it said beforehand), satan loves our music, so we're with satan.

Pretty disgusting, aint it.

I think it was Rob Halford of Judas Priest who demonstrated that you can play practically anything backwards and hear hidden messages if you're predisposed that way. In other words it's all bollocks.

Yes, I did a report on various types of mindcontrol (fictional or otherwise), and backwards messages in music is almost always bollocks (except in the cases where it is intentional, of course, like Empty Spaces, etc).

Oh, and it's not called "backmasking." The term "backmasking" refers to a type of film where images are hidden within it. Just wanted to clear that up.

oooooh....I dunno,I wouldn't poo-hoo these things. I once recorded the song 'Oo-Ee-Oo-Ee-Oo-Ah-Ah' by DOA at 78rpm, and then played it backwards on an old revox tape recorder, and I'm sure there was a message saying 'kill your wife and put the body under your new patio'.

I think this is a candidate for merging, such inanity shouldn't escape the boundaries of one thread.
