Joker--I had neighbours (good friends of ours) who were of an Eastern Orthodox tradition, and I know that they celebrated Christmas on a different day. Could you tell me on what day Christmas is celebrated in your area?

Congrats! Enjoy them both! (I think you will...)

I got The Wall songbook for Christmas, the one for DSotM is on order, I will be purchasing the Pink Floyd Anthology songbook tomorrow, and ordering the one for TDB!

Wooo-hoo!

(I am learning guitar and my keyboard skills have improved recently, so rest assured, all these songbooks will be put to good use!)

FloydWaters,

people of the Orthodox Church celebrate XMas at the 7th of Jan, recently it became official holiday in Russia too. But as I'm not religious at all, me and my family celebrate New Year like you celebrate XMas (presents, night walks, fur-trees and stuff).

lol. i doubt that. maybe he's not mentioning the fact that people walk around buildings caroling for money and getting drunk until like 6 am.

well thats how my family celebrated new years. also, i get presents on december 19th Saint Nicholas day.

i think its way taken very differently for orthodox, its more of a religious event, other then shopping and presents.

Lucifer Sam,
I said "me and my family" innit ?
Unlike most Russians, we are never getting drunk and falling under the table and gettin' up in the morning with headaches.
Just a quiet family celebration.
And "who gives a f--- " about others ?

I've heard of the big New Year's celebrations in Russia. In fact, I get to see the friends who explained it to me in just a few days! (They are very cool, very nice people and I haven't seen them in a long time.)

Joker Wild,

I didnt mean to speak upon your family, I apologize if I angried you. I was speaking merely from a general point of view upon general Russian celebrations. I thought you would see what I was trying to say. Maybe the procedures of celebrations changed in the last 5 years. Once again. Sorry.

and Happy New Years to all.
