Funky Dung- Voices

Who and what are the voices near the end of Funky Dung on AHM (about 13mins in)? Are the "chants" saying anything particular or just jibberish? And who is singing them? I cant hear anything at all, and cant find it anywhere. Can anyone help me out with it?

Re: Funky Dung- Voices

The John Alldis Chior, conducted (mostly) by John Alldis. Composed and arranged by ROn Geesin, who also arranged the orechestral score (with a little help from Rick). The words are nonsense - I've always thought that it was supposed to be reminiscent of 'scatting.' A brilliant idea, really - an entire chior, scatting in unison.

Geesin is on record as not being very happy with the results, and the Floyd always go out of their way to put down the AHM suite, but I think it's pretty boss, myself.

Another thing, i've heard the "Silence in the studio" line just before remergence but a little before that there is another line, ending with the word announcement, I couldn't quite decifer it...it may have been "The following is a public announcement" or something along those lines...

It's Geesin saying "here is a loud announcement."

Re: Funky Dung- Voices

Yes Iv heard "this is a loud announcment" and "silence in the studio." I just love how "silence in the studio" is said right before the chorus if you want to call it that.

But what do the nonsense voices mean or are trying to represent? Anything?
