Re: Dream Theater - Octavarium

Ooh yeah, I need this one. I wasn't overly excited when it was first announced, because their last two albums weren't too impressive, but I've heard some pretty good things about this one. I'll probably be getting it next week, so I'll be sure to report back with my two cents.

LaBrie can be a bit much at times, but he has a fine voice. Weren't you the one telling me what a wonderful vocalist Bruce Dickinson is?

Yep that was me. And I still think he is. Bruce Dickinson and Ronnie James Dio are the best metal vocalists ever, and that is a fact.

Re: Dream Theater - Octavarium

Personally I think Devin Townsend has the best metal voice ever, but I guess that's just me.

Yes it is - you're just a foolish American kid. Go listen to your Meshuggah!

Re: Dream Theater - Octavarium

They have a rather poor vocalist, actually. But if you're referring to Townsend being American--he's actually Canadian.

Well after Train of Thought, which i consider by far their worst, i figured it had to get better. But I think its more than just a bit better, its very good. These Walls and Octavarium are my favorites.

Actually I quite like Rush I currently own 2112 and I'm sure more will follow in the future. What do they have to do with DT anyway?
