you are kind of an overachiever aren't you. anyway here are the songs from the man and the journey

the man:
daybreak
work
teabreak
afternoon
doing it
sleep
nightmare
daybreak part 2

the journey:
the beginning
beset by creatures of the deep
the narrow way
the pink jungle
labyrinths of auximenies
behold the temple of light
the end of the beginning

some are not released songs so it would help to actuall hear it.

Again, thanks for the info. But there are some changes we'll be making to the line-up, if granted permission;

"Daybreak": "Signs of Life (Half One)"/"Let There Be More Light"

"Afternoon": "Grantchester Meadows"/"Biding My Time"/"Bike"/"See-saw"

"In The Evening": "Cluster One"/"A Pillow of Winds"/"The _______ Smith Overture"

"Nightmare": "Cymbaline"/"Interstellar Overdrive"/"One Of These Days"/"Signs of Life (Half Two)"

"The Beginning": "Father's Shout"/"Remergence" (from "Atom Heart Mother" suite)

"Whaddaya Know, Another Day": "Obscured By Clouds"/"When You're In"/"Dogs (short)"/"Have A Cigar"/"On the Turning Away"/"Not Now John (edit, for reasons other than my preference)"/"Poles Apart"

"Careful With That Axe, Eugene" (no other title)

"The Narrow Way, Part 3"

"The Next Evening's Dreams": "The Gunner's Dream"/"Set the Controls For The Heart of The Sun (short)"/"Welcome to the Machine"/segued into Part 2 of "Shine on You Crazy Diamond"

"The Realization": "Chapter 24" (with gong)

"Sorrow"

The Beginning of the End: "A Saucerful of Secrets"

(ENCORE: "Echoes" in it's entirety.)

We'll also add many other songs that fit the theme and mood, to satisfy that "Various" craving, but we'll stick with "The Man & The Journey" theme and mood.
Any suggestions? (Besides "Don't." )
Just realized we very well may have to put this in two shows.

if someone put that on around here i would definitely go. it sounds very interesting if you can pull it off. what are you going to be doing besides putting it on? do you play anything? will it be hard to find people that like to play this kind of music or that can play it?

Well the "local musicians" I speak of will play anything you hand them. I mean they warm up to "Living La Vida Loca" or something like that, and "William Tell Overture." I'm sure they can get this.

(BTW, I'll edit that post with the "Man and Journey" list as ideas come along.)

What we'll be doing is using various PF songs as a sort of live soundtrack about a day in the life of a man dealing with his various pressures, using their songs and lyrics as reflections.
First, this fella wakes up on Sunday, or a day off from work, then has a nightmare that's almost a story of his job and life. Then he goes to work and, for the first time, sees what kind of people he works with (guys like those described in "Dogs" and "Have a Cigar"). So he loses hope ('PA'), and from pressure, loses social skills (CWITAE, almost like DSOTM).
Then the guy has another dream, this time exploring his dementia and loss of faith in his fellow man and in himself. Then he realizes what he has to do to overcome his stressful feelings--make up his own way of thinking (C24), making him almost like a General, and war is a metaphor for his life (Sorrow, SOS).
