Re: Floyd's Future I think they will do more performances, but not an all out tour. I feel that they will do something in the UK, like perform the whole DSOTM, with another set of 'greatest hits' and donate all the money they make. I do not see an album or tour, but trust me, i HOPE i am dead wrong about that.

Re: Floyd's Future I don't think that we, the Pink Floyd fans, should be sad about PF's future. We've got a whole opera written by Mr. Waters about to reach the record stores, also, there's "The Wall on Broadway" project. Roger has got some songs he has been writing since the beginning of the nineties ("Flickering Flame", "Leaving Beirut", etc.). Now that the opera is finally being realeased it's quite probable that he will take some time to give shape to those songs and make an album. Nick Mason has written a very interesting book, and, hey! perhaps Dave Gilmour surprises us and comes up with something new on his own. I don't expect anything like a world tour or a new record. Roger and Dave's writing styles were already "Poles Apart" by TFC and with the passing of time their musical paths have become more and more separated. I don't think any collaboration between the two is possible and Rick Wright doesn't seem very active or interested in creating new music. Just admit it, their glory days as a working unit are over. When the "Animals" album came out and a year later Dave and Rick released their solo albums it was already evident that each individual member was pursuing his own musical career. But I think that a final performance on their own and playing more than four songs would be a very sweet ending. Something like a live rendition of "DSotM" plus a few other songs in the Royal Albert Hall could be great. Imagine the large amounts of money they could get doing this! All this money going to a particular or to some charities could really make a difference and, on top of this, the guys really seemed to have a great time when they played at Live8.

Re: Floyd's Future I don't know which thread to post this, and if the mods think another thread is more appropriate, they're welcome to move this. This is from an interview with David in Sunday Telegraph this weekend: Have they (Roger and David) stayed in touch since Live8? Pause. 'No, we haven't really, but we have emailed each other within the last months or so.' He also tells a funny story from Live 8: 'We were so nice and modest about it all that when they told us there were not enough dressing-rooms and we would have to share, we said OK, fine. Then we found out that everyone else had their own proper, assigned dressing-room because they had insisted on it. We had to share ours with Snow Patrol, or someone. I think we should have been slightly more superstar-ish about it.' Last edited by Hove; 05-28-2006 at 10:50 PM.
