| Re: Hope? In one of Anathema`s album there is a song called Hope and it has been made by D.Gilmour! I haven`t found it on any of Floyd`s or Gilmours albums, so has Gilmour made it only for Anathema? |

| Re: Hope? Hey Jahve...welcome to the place. I hadn't heard of Gilmour writing that, but he has done stuff for other artists in the past so it wouldn't surprise me. I was watching some documentary on TV a few years ago, and the music in the closing credits sounded a lot like "One of These Days". I was thinking "this sounds quite Floydy" when I saw "Soundtrack written by David Gilmour". I have never heard that song ever again. It wasn't a movie so you can't just buy it in a CD store under "soundtrack", and it wasn't a group, so again you can't get it in a CD store. So there ya go!!! ![]()

| Re: Hope? Go to allmusic.com and look up David Gilmour...it has a big list of stuff he's done. Not sure if it's complete, but it's gotta be pretty close.

| Re: Hope? No, I've heard an extended version of One of These Days on a double disc package I have. It's a package with written instrutions for DJ's that has a couple of cds in it with commentary by Pink Floyd and Jim Ladd(host). My dad got it from the radio station he works at. They talk about how they made certain songs that appear on echoes over the actual tracks they are talking about. The very last song they talk about is One Of These Days. The song doesn't stop at 5:57 or whatever it is. Instead, the soloing continues. It is very wierd, and I've been meaning to tell you guys earlier but never got to it.

| Re: Hope? Is the extended version still like the original recording? This one I heard was more like the Delicate Sound version than the Meddle version.

| Re: Hope? "...I was searching the net for the lyrics of the Hope song when I found pinkfloydfan.net messageboard ... a guy was asking for the origin of the "Hope" song... well I think it's from a Roy Harper album anyway you can find more info searching through www.google.com that keywords "roy harper david gilmour hope"..." This was e-mailed to me from an anonimous person. I repeat: I, the Madcap Diamond, am not responsible for this "Hope song" information. I guess the guy didn't want to register because it was a one-time thing for him. So I guess I was the first person with an e-mail attachment he saw. Shine on everybody!!!

| Re: Hope? That documentary--was it Colours of Infinity, a programme about fractals? I have a couple of MP3's from that.

| Re: Hope? I can't remember...I think it was something scientific (I have no idea what a fractal is). It sounded bloody cool.

| Re: Hope? That was probably it. Do you remember anything about patterns, something almost art-like, but governed by mathematical law?

| Re: Hope? Yup yup...that's the one. The closing credits had lots of colourful moving patterns...and that's when I heard the music. Do you know if it's been released anywhere?

| Re: Hope? I am not aware of any official release--but it COULD be possible. Try searching on Morpheus under "Colours of Infinity" (also try the American spelling as well).

| Re: Hope? listen to peter townshend - white city fighting is "Hope" but with diferent lyrics. David wrote that song for his about face album and he asked to Roy Harper and peter townshend to write the lyrics, but finally he didn't use that song so roy and peter used in their albums. The speech intro of anathema's cover is also a roy harper "song" called "bad Speech", and i'm not sure but i think is roy the one who recorded that speech for the anathema album. The guitars are played (in the original version) by Jimmy Page. Listen comfortably numb (live), One of the few and Good bye Cruel world in anathema's version they are pretty good
