70's no doubt

80's is probaly next.

60's music does not do it for me that much. Some of the late 60's stuff was good(CCR, Steppin' Wolf, The Doors, Floyd(even though they were far better in the 70's.)

Today mucis is shite other than a small handfull of groups. Guitar players today suck compared to the previous generation. The one thing that dissapoints me the most of rock bands today is that few have a decent guitar player.

70's

I never thought I would agree with Satan! j/k Guitar players do suck today! As much as I like Creed, Mark Tremonti will always be a riff man, not a solo man. That's what all the new bands do these dayz. They just play one simple riff for 3:30 minutes. There is no dynamics.

Tough fight between the 70s and the 80s. I know that Floyd's best stuff came out of the 70s, and I know the "80s sound" sucked mostly. But Jane's Addiction, and Dire Straights best stuff came from the 80s.

I'll go with 70s.

Yeah, the later psychedelic sixties stuff and early prog stuff is great. It was a great time for rock, very experimental, and not booged down in convention, as the majority of popular music is today. I wish that I had been of an age to really appreciate both the music and the scene around it, instead of being quite aware of the manipulative inner workings of an industry designed to make money by sacrificing artistic integrity.

"Generation X?? You must be f***ing joking!"

Cheers Thorin,

Mark
