I'll take a look at a bottle of the Broon Ale next time I see one. I have heard of this being done, but wouldn't have thought S&N would partake of such a practice. Thanks for the info!

Having worked for the ba**ards ( you can tell there is no love lost) I know they wouldn't care a toss about the product that was dished up, all they care about is the cash they get from selling the licence. However if they looked at the big picture they would realise that an inferior product won't sell, and they end up losing cash any way.

By the by: I never ever really got the joke behind "Kool Aid" and the use of it as an epithet. I know the joke behind Navy "Bug juice", but what's with the Kool Aid?

Wasn't Kool Aid a type of orange juice? Perhaps he was saying it was liking drinking orange juice? Or perhaps there was some link to the Kool Aid tests in the 60's?

Re: Best Beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!list

What Kool Aid tests?

Yes, Kool Aid is still a soft drink.

But sometimes... the use of the term is almost always in a disparaging manner. Like suggesting you're an idiot or something...

And I've noticed this only in America.

Re: Best Beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!list

Yeah I would go with likening it to orange juice(kool aid).

Some fun lovvin' individuals ( the merry pranksters) wanted to turn on the world and decided to put LSD in orange juice (kool aid) at pop festivals (happenings)and see the reactions.

Re: Best Beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!list

Regarding foreign brew, I have noticed when examining bottles in the store, that many of the "import" brews have fine print on the label mentioning that it was brewed in the U.S. "under licence".

I think I read that Pabst Brewing hires other breweries to brew their beers for them.. I don't know for sure, but I suspect they have contracted SABMiller Brewing...
