I'm trying to make a mix of bands covering Floyd songs. here is the list of what I have so far, if you know any more, please post.

Wyclef Jean "Wish You Were Here" (i strangly enough like this, but then again, i like rap)
Fred Durst/Goo Goo Dols "Wish You Were Here" (besides that "so glad you're here" line at the end i do like this song)
Melvins "Innerstellar Overdrive" (never heard it)
Kittie "Run Like Hell" (hate kittie, but i dig this song)
Foo Fighters/Brian May "Have a Cigar" (pretty good)
System of a Down "Goodbye Blue Sky" (cover in the smallest sense... gets rid of the verses and talks about the environent instead... still bad ass tho)

Anyone else have anything to add?

I believe that PRIMUS did a cover on "have a cigar" on the Miscillaneus Debris CD.

I don't believe someone would voluntarily listen to Fred Durst butcher a Floyd song. Or just listen to her period. And yes, Primus did do 'Have A Cigar' on that album.

Don't forget that "Out Of Phase" does DSotM, WYWH, Animals, and The Wall.

Also, A Saucerful of Pink is a collection of Pink Floyd techno covers.

I think there is something called "Us and Them: Symphonic Symphony?"(I don't know)........I see it in stores all the time.

I've got a CD called "The Moon Revisited" which is DSOTM, but played by a bunch of Canadian bands. It's alright, a little pointless maybe, and being Canadian, VERY whiney.

Worth buying as a curio piece, I guess.

Cheers lads,

Mark

Phish did live covers of the entire DSOTM, they also do Bike, and a few solo Syd songs from way back. And a band called Moe. also did all of DSOTM on halloween in 2000. And if you check some of there respective pages, you can proably get a copy off somebody or even d/l it.

If you use a Napster-type download manager, you'll see that there are many bootlegs of Live versions of bands like Primus doing In The Flesh, as well as the many listed above. Radiohead is another one that I downloaded. There was a compilation record of post-WWII generation performers doing Rock songs that they would not normally perform that came out a few years ago. A woman did Comfortably Numb, sorry can't remember the album name or the artist who sang CN.
