Smile Fugazi

Well, i couldn't find any other thread on this band specifically so...
(While i know that sydney was talking about a different band, the words she used are better than the ones i could come up with when describing any band and i feel they also apply to fugazi!)

Re: Fugazi

aaaah! I love Fugazi!
Interesting you should use my description of TMV for Fugazi, they are a known influence on the TMV boys, though, more in the At the Drive-In days than Mars Volta.

Sadly, I only have one album (End Hits), which is supposedly their worst, but I love Break, what a bloody great song! (amongst others that is)
Anyhow, I'd say they're easily the best of the best of the punk/post punk scene from Washington, they're definitely worth a listen to!

yayness! So glad you started a thread about them!

Re: Fugazi

I only know of Fugazi as Marillion's second album. Marillion rules BTW.

If you like fugazi i recommend checking out minor threat (ian mackaye, main guy of fugazi's previous band) they are more hardcore sounding but they have some wonderful songs! Also as for fugazi albums you should pick up "13 songs", its my favorite of there's and often considered their best or one of them.

Re: Fugazi

I think I bought 13 songs for someone else, years ago.
Ian McKay is awesome. I love that guy, I've heard other random stuff from him, so I porbably know a little bit of what you're on about. We should work hard to spread the good Fugazi word..

I love waiting room, that's such an awesome song.

Re: Fugazi

I've heard about them (from Lej, and also other people recently), but I haven't yet bothered to check them out. Any recommendations of songs to check out would be welcome.

Re: Fugazi

Sydney : If you think that this band is better live than recorded, check out Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers

Actually I might be biased - those guys are pretty darn good recorded and awesome live too

Re: Fugazi

Well, actually, I've never heard Fugazi live, and my comment on TMV being better live than recorded was before I'd had time to fully swallow the album.. but I'll have a look into what you're recommending.

Nish.. erm.. well I don't know, get Waiting Room, and Song #1, I like those, also Break is an awesome song.

cheers
