NEED ...MORE....BANDS... (sorry for the caps)

well, in 16 going on to 17, and i feel that i have discovered Acid Rock. I have always listened to "Oldies" or "Classic Rock", but after exploring certain bands (Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, Grateful Dead) All of a sudden i have developed a craving for more bands. I dont what to look for tho.

just wondering if anyone has a list of bands that they listen to from 1965-1970ish that they listen to.

so far my favorete song from Jefferson Airplane has to be White Rabbit, From the doors it would have to be The End, and i dont have a favorete yet for grateful dead.

anyone have any sugjestions? I will take some sugjestions from moderen days, its just i dont tend to like music now a-day's for some reason.....

oh and does anyone know where i can get some moc's for cheap? I want to get a pair, and all the authentic ones that i have found cost $300-600, which is more then i want to pay for shoes.... and i dont want them to look like slippers....

Re: NEED ...MORE....BANDS... (sorry for the caps)

Genesis (before peter gabriel left. albums like lamb lies down on broadway, selling england by the pound, or genesis live)
Peter Gabriel (if you don't like his poppy stuff check out "Up" from 2001ish. Its not pop at all)
The Who
YES (Yessongs is very good)
just about everything else listed.

You should really check out some currently performing bands though so you can actually enjoy some concerts.
I recommend Porcupine Tree, they are by far my favorite band that makes music today. Every album is very very different but check out their newest album "Deadwing", its excellent.

DreamTheater is also very very good. I recommend "Metropolis Part 2: Scenes from a memory", "Images and Words", or their newest album "Octavarium."

Nine Inch Nails is also an excellent band. "The Fragile" is a two disc, progressive masterpiece. Their newest album, "With Teeth" is very well done. It probably has the most mature lyrics Reznor has ever written, and the widest diversity of musical styles.

You seem to have an excellent taste in music, ever listened to Marillion? Their latest release ''Marbles'' is fantastic.

I second everything this man has said.

Also, for new music, I highly highly highly recommend Dredg. Any of their 3 albums will do, but each are quite varied. Personally, I'm in love with their recent release, "Catch Without Arms." You still haven't checked them out, have you John?

Yup. Very catchy too, and it rocks HARD!

If you like them, please try Tool and Prick.
