Of course. Mine was just a say, not a blame. His "hello, is there anybody in there?" at the begin of CN was moving.
I stood up as a sign of respect!

Re: Pink Floyd Performance at Live 8

First I have to say that PF's gig was ten times better than I expected after all these years.
God I love when the camera films Nick from above while he is banging his head while grooving on the ride cymbal during Breathe!

Secondly, I'm wondering on who sang second voice on Breathe? I can see anyone on stage singing that song exept David. It isn't Rick because he don't have a mic at all.

The funny thing is that I'm 100% sure that Jon Carin shows his presence in the end of the show, right after the Pink Floyd did the group waving. You can first see him going towards Tim Renwick and clapping his shoulder and exiting the stage with the rest of the musicians...

So, I'm wondering if Jon had a "hidden" performance

Yes, in fact Jon Carin performed in the dark, playing some filler here and there and doing also the backing vocals on Breathe that you mentioned.

Re: Pink Floyd Performance at Live 8

Do we have any proof of that, besides seeing him cheering at the other musicians in the end? I mean, he could have just been standing by the stage watching?

We need reliable sources!

I like Jon Carin very much, but I really dislike the thought that they used a musician to fill in for Wright.
It looked like Wright did a outstanding job. Compared to the "David Gilmour - in Concert", we can actually hear Rick Wright play a chord...

David did so smile at Roger at one point. When Roger began to sing, and i can't remember which song it was now, but David looked over at him and smiled.

Yes. It was during Comfortably Numb after "Me hands felt just like two balloons". Roger was well on his way shaking his mane and waving his arms in the air and Dave let fly a huge grin at Roger and started waving his arms about in time. Blink and you'll miss it. Dave was at least as primed as the others, but, well, it ain't the Dave way to go all goony on stage now is it?

During Comfortably Numb, the band really began to kick it right in. They'd have needed a three song appetizer on any regular tour set anyway. But watching the above glimpse of Dave's momentary lapse of stoic composure, and Nick flinging off his phones to free up his feel, one can only dream how much better it could have become had they been playing a Pink Floyd concert.

Please, God.

On the aol.com responses to Floyd, one of the posters said how apt it was that the Floyd reunified for Live8, because they touch something in humanity like few others can. How true. I was surprised to find myself weeping as I was singing along. Made my week, perhaps my year.

Thanks for that DL of the show. It's a bit blippy during the intro to Breathe, but it is exactly as it was online after that. Great DL. Thanks again.

I'm still buzzing from their performance. I've always regretted not seeing 'The Wall' performed so I feel seeing them on Sat was a last opportunity to see them all together and they did not disappoint!

Re: Pink Floyd Performance at Live 8

We need to start an online petition. We can only hope that enough people sign it that Floyd hears about it. These guys are the greatest band in the history of music. I would be lying if I said seeing Pink Floyd in '94 and Roger Waters in 2001 was enough. I NEED to see the group together as it should be!
